Lordsburg Port of Entry

The recently completed Lordsburg Port of Entry serves as a station for the New Mexico Motor Transportation Police to monitor eastbound Interstate 10 commercial traffic entering from Arizona.  This project included replacing the old port which was housed in modular buildings for nearly 18 years.  The existing site was completely reconfigured to better accommodate desired commercial traffic flows. The new facility houses a lobby and customer service area, a large multi-purpose conference room, private and open office areas, detention/interrogation spaces, vehicle inspection bays, and employee spaces including a lounge, exercise room, locker rooms, and private courtyard.  The interior spaces are designed to take advantage of daylighting and combined with other sustainable features, the project will achieve LEED Silver certification in early 2011.
